Clinics rarely publish one that matches what you will actually pay — and when they do, the advertised figure is almost always a base cycle price that excludes medicines, investigations, freezing and later transfers. What “IVF cost” usually means in Hyderabad ads
A typical online “IVF package” covers the laboratory and procedure fees for one stimulation cycle and one fresh embryo transfer. It often does not include:
- Stimulation medicines (a large, variable part of the total)
- Baseline blood tests, semen analysis and ultrasound monitoring beyond a small allowance

1. Protocol and medicines
How many days of stimulation you need, which drugs are used, and how your ovaries respond all change medicine cost. People with lower ovarian reserve or previous poor response may need different protocols. This is why a phone quote before scans and AMH is only a rough band.
2. IVF versus ICSI
ICSI (injecting a single sperm into each egg) is added when semen parameters, prior fertilisation failure, or certain laboratory findings make conventional IVF less suitable. ICSI is a laboratory step with its own fee — ask whether the “IVF package” already includes it.
3. Number of cycles and transfers
Many people need more than one stimulation cycle, or a fresh transfer followed later by a frozen transfer. A frozen transfer is usually much less expensive than a full stimulation cycle, but it is still a separate cost. Counting only the first cycle understates the journey for a large share of patients.
4. Investigations before you start
